The Gaslini, a widespread and highly connected hospital

For a long time, we have been interested in the applications of information technologies in the medical field in general, also the aspect on which we naturally focused is that of the use of voice technologies.
This is why it was with great interest that we participated in the meeting organized by the Gaslini Hospital on the use of 10 GB ultra-broadband for the Institute’s connectivity created by Fibering (also a partner of Dotvocal) and Open Fiber.
A sort of “digital highway” that connects the hospital internally and with the world, allowing to open new frontiers in the field of remote diagnosis, telemedicine, and remote training.
In summary, this is the “Diffuse and highly connected hospital” project which allows you to practice remote diagnosis at home-hospital, training with connected doctors from all over the world, the transfer of voluminous data processed by researchers, on television platforms for young patients hospitalized and distance learning for those of school age.
The event was attended by Paola Pisano, Minister for Technological Innovation and Digitization, and the General Director of the Gaslini Institute Paolo Petralia.
The project, as mentioned, was made possible by Fibering Spa which, exploiting the capillarity of the optical fiber network laid by Open Fiber, allows fast and scalable connectivity, as underlined by the CEO of Fibering spa Elio Romagnoli, assisted by Elisabetta Ripa, CEO of Open Fiber.
