What is a World Model?

A World Model is an artificial intelligence system that creates an internal representation of an environment and uses it to simulate future events. Initially developed in limited contexts, such as video game worlds, these models are now evolving to understand more complex and realistic real-world scenarios. Runway Presents: Gen-3 Alpha

Runway has introduced Gen-3 Alpha, which is part of this new generation of AI models that are moving closer to more general World Models. This model not only improves the quality and consistency of generated videos but also enhances the understanding of visual and physical dynamics, bringing us closer to the concept of a general world model.

The results obtained are comparable to the videos generated by SORA, OpenAI’s video generation model.
